17.05.2022: JMCM Round Table followed by an awards cocktail.

The current humanitarian crisis in Ukraine invites a redefinition of political asylum, especially for the European Union. Tuesday 17 may 2-4 pm, room B-0245 (Jean-Brillant, Université de Montréal), the round table organised by the Jean Monnet Centre Montreal will provide an opportunity to reflect more broadly on how to improve, develop and implement innovations for refugees fleeing violent conflict.

The round-table will feature His Excellency Mr. Kaspars Ozoliņš, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Canada and Professors Megan Bradley (McGill University), Ryoa Chung and Luna Vives (Université de Montréal) and Lyuobov Zhyznomirska (Saint Mary’s University Halifax). Professor Laurence Deschamps-Laporte, (Université de Montréal) will moderate the roundtable.

The JMCM will celebrate students’ achievements with the JMCM prizes (competition for student infographics on the European Union and Jean Monnet Awards)

A cocktail and exhibition of infographics will follow at 4:00 p.m. (room C-2081/83, Carrefour des Arts et Sciences).
