Entre Union européenne et Russie, tensions électorales en marge de l’Europe

Recent elections in Georgia and Moldova have highlighted a tension between the European Union and Russia. In Georgia, the parliamentary elections reinstated the pro-Russian party in power. Meanwhile, Moldovan citizens largely voted to re-elect the pro-European president, Maia Sandu, following a narrow victory for the “yes” vote in the EU membership referendum. Two years after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the specter of Russian interference looms over the elections in both countries. To place these elections in their regional context, we invite you to a discussion with two CÉRIUM researchers:

  • Magdalena Dembinska, Full Professor in the Department of Political Science at UdeM
  • Frédéric Mérand, Full Professor and Director of the Department of Political Science at UdeM

This discussion will be moderated by Emmanuelle Rousseau, a research fellow on Europe at CÉRIUM. The event is organized in partnership with the Jean Monnet Centre of Montreal.

Registration on Le Point de vente is mandatory.

Location: 3200 Jean-Brillant Street, Room B-4215 (4th floor)
