For the third event of our 2024/2025 Speaker series, we invite you to attend the lecture by Erica Marat (College of International Security Affairs), titled ‘After Russia: Post-Imperial Imaginaries among Indigenous Movements.‘
Dr. Marat’s study analyzes the emergence of decolonial movements among non-Slavic nations within Russia, particularly within diaspora communities. Grounded in historical grievances and cultural suppression, these movements advocate for autonomy or independence. The research situates their demands within broader post-imperial frameworks, intensified by Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine and ongoing centralization efforts.
