“The future of the European Union”

Join the European Students’ Society and the Jean Monnet Centre Montréal in celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Jean Monnet Activities. Thirty years after its creation by the European Commission, the Jean Monnet Programme continues to fund teaching and research on EU policies and fosters dialogue between academics, decision makers and civil society actors around the world.

For the occasion, we will be hosting the Ambassador of the European Union to Canada, H.E. Peteris Ustubs, for a talk on the achievements of the European Union since its enlargement in 2004 and its future touching on Brexit and the 2019 upcoming European elections.

Jean Monnet Faculty Members will also give short presentations about their current research projects. The event will also be the occasion to give out publicly the two Jean Monnet Awards that support graduate student research.

The conference will be followed by a light Wine & Cheese reception.

The event will take place in the conference room of the Elizabeth-Wirth Music Pavilion at McGill University (A-832) (8th floor) on April 1 at 5:00 p.m. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the event to be able to check in.
