Prix Jean Monnet 2018: Yueming Yan

Félicitations à Yueming Yan, lauréate du Prix Jean Monnet de l’Université McGill. Ce prix est accordé par le Centre Jean Monnet de Montréal pour récompenser l’excellence dans les études européennes.

Yueming Yan is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree at McGill University Faculty of Law, where she researches in areas of international investment and commercial arbitration, sustainable development and international investment law, and transnational and international public policy. She also holds a Master of Law degree at Xiamen University and a bachelor of law degree in Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.

At present, Yueming is engaged with a research named Global Anti-Corruption Efforts in a New Era of International Investment Agreements: From the Perspectives of the EU and China, the result of which will be published by the end of 2018. She is also working as a research assistant to Prof. Kun FAN on two research projects: Chinese Corporations’ Attitudes towards International Arbitration and FDI and Investment Arbitration in the Mainland of the People’s Republic of China and Hong Kong.

Prior to that, Yueming has participated in the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition twice and was awarded Second Place of the Best Memorial of Respondent in International Round in April 2016. She also participated in the International Investment Agreements University Mapping Project organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in 2015.

In addition, she is a student member of the Private Justice and the Rule of Law Research Group at the Faculty of Law and has been awarded the Chinese State Scholarship, Grad Excellent Award, Law Dean’s Graduate Award, GREAT Award, and Rose Grad Award during her study at McGill University.
