Daniela Heimpel, Visiting Student at the European University Institute

Our associate PhD student Daniela Heimpel was named Visiting student at the European University Institute. She will be working under Prof. Rainer Bauböck at the Department for Political and Social Sciences for five months starting fall 2017.

Daniela Heimpel is PhD candidate in political science at Université de Montréal and at Université de Nantes. Specialized in political theory, her thesis addresses the issue of education for European citizenship. More broadly, her work focuses on European integration, civic education, citizenship, political integration, democracy and pluralism. She recently published “Former le citoyen européen? Réflexions sur le concept d’éducation civique dans le cadre de l’intégration politique transnational de l’Europe” inEurostudia in 2017.
