Ahmed Hamila is a PhD student in political science under a co-supervision agreement between the Université de Montréal and Université libre de Bruxelles. His doctoral thesis focuses on the implementation of European asylum policies related to gender in France, Belgium and the United Kingdom. His research interests are the European Union, sociology of administration, gender studies, migration and theories of citizenship.

An advocate for combining thought and action leadership, Costin Ciobanu is currently PhD Candidate in Political Science at McGill University and a Vanier Scholar. His substantive research interests revolve around economic voting, campaign effects, and political communication, with a focus on the electoral consequences of economic shocks in Eastern and Western Europe.Between 2015 and 2017, he was Public Leadership Fellow at the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation.

Sashenka Lleshaj is a PhD Student in Political Science and a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholar (2019-2022) at McGill University. She arrived in Canada as a Jeanne Sauvé Public Leadership Fellow 2017-19. Previously, she completed her Master of Science in Russian & East European Studies at the University of Oxford. She also served as Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, through the LEAD Albania Fellowship 2016-17. As part of the advisory position, Sasha completed an Executive Education Program on leadership at Harvard Kennedy School. In her research, she explores issues of transitional justice, justice reform and memory politics in the post-communist space, with a focus on the Balkans. (Photo credit: Daniella Barreto)
